Established in 1990, the company was founded by Tom Johnson in the Fox Valley area of Wisconsin. The company grew from handy-man services to custom carpentry, large additions, and historical renovation projects. Working with many different types and sizes of projects results in a robust remodeling company. This distinguishing attribute is appreciated by our customers who feel comfortable selecting us for multiple remodeling projects. The company relocated to the Middleton area in 2002 and services the Madison and surrounding communities.

Home Works Remodeling is a proud member of NARI. NARI is the national trade association committed to service to the professional remodeling industry. The association was founded and is sustained by three fundamental goals: professionalism, education, and ethics. These goals are parallel to the core fundamentals for Home Works Remodeling. Let’s take a closer look.

  • Professionalism:Every Home Works Remodeling employee is committed to professionalism. It is not uncommon to hear from our customers that they are happily surprised with the level of professionalism displayed by our employees when they over-hear every-day conversation between our carpenters or subcontractors on the jobsite.Another example of professionalism is shown by winning several Contractor of the Year awards through NARI (Awards previously listed). Not only does winning these awards show excellence in terms of craftsmanship, but professionalism is also demonstrated through both presenting projects to the judges and gaining approval from the customer in order to submit their project for an award.
  • Education/Certification:Home Works Remodeling believes in continuing education. NARI’s certification program is the association’s recognition of participants that have met certain criteria for experience, commitment to ethical conduct and professionalism. The program has been in existence for over fifteen years and was the first of its kind in the industry. It remains one of the most prestigious largely due to the strict requirements. Tom Johnson is a Certified Remodeler and has assisted in teaching classes for future Certified Remodelers.
